Keeping Your Accounts Secure: Security Questions Required Soon

We value the trust you place in us to keep your accounts and information secure. To that end and due to heightened security needs around the world, we regularly evaluate and, if necessary, update our procedures to ensure they meet the highest standards for security and protection.

That’s why, the first time you log in to your online bank account or use your DUCA smartphone app after November 21, 2016, you will be asked to select three security questions. Your personal answers to these questions will provide another layer of protection for accounts accessed either online or through the DUCA smartphone app. 

After you establish your security questions and answers, thereafter you will be prompted with a question if you attempt to log in with a different device. The system will recognize that access is attempted through a new and unrecognized device and will prompt you with one of your security questions before proceeding further.

The establishment and use of security questions means you can be reassured of the following:

  • We are keeping your accounts and information safe and protected from unauthorized attempts to access your accounts.
  • You can be assured you are safely at DUCA’s banking site and not a fraudulent website.

What happens if you forget your security answer?

It happens to the best of us. That’s why we recommend you select the question options to which you know you will have memorized answers and consistent spelling. (Capitalization of letters won’t matter.)

Nonetheless, you’ll have three opportunities to provide the correct answer. If you fail to do so after three attempts, your account will be locked.

So please remember: Starting November 21, you will see messages about selecting your security questions. We recommend you undertake the process as soon as you are prompted but, if you are unable to do so at the time, you will have 90 days to complete. After 90 days, you will be automatically required to select your security questions before accessing your accounts.
